Drafting the best RB in fantasy football is the easiest way to win your league.

The obvious contenders are Jahmyr Gibbs, Bijan Robinson, and Christian McCaffrey. But take note: only two of the last thirteen RB touch leaders have finished top-12 the following season, and no RB has repeated as PPR RB1 in roughly 20 years.

So who's the value play?

Jonathan Taylor

With Daniel Jones healthy in 2025, Taylor averaged 24.8 fantasy points per game from weeks 1–13. Only McCaffrey was higher. Taylor ranked 3rd among RBs in rush yards, 1st in total TDs, and 1st in attempts. A full healthy season in 2026 could be special.

James Cook

The 2025 rushing title winner with 1,622 yards. Three straight seasons as an RB1: RB6 in 2025, RB8 in 2024, RB12 in 2023. He finished top-5 among RBs in total opportunities and TDs. If he gets more targets, he could break fantasy. His receiving upside is untapped.

Ashton Jeanty

Last year the Raiders' offensive line gave up 47 sacks (most by 12) and ranked 32nd per PFF. Despite that, Jeanty had three games with 24.8+ fantasy points. With Linderbaum anchoring the line, Cousins' dump-offs, and Kubiak's scheming, the ceiling is enormous.

Jeremiyah Love

The 3rd overall pick to Arizona. Doak Walker Award winner and consensus All-American. Could see 100+ targets in year one. His path to RB1 overall is very similar to 2018 Saquon Barkley: 250+ attempts and 80+ catches on a developing offense.
